Looking to throw a magical, winter-themed first birthday for your baby girl?
A Winter Onederland party is the perfect choice, and it’s easier to pull off than it looks.
Think sparkly snowflakes, cozy touches, and lots of pink and white decor.
Here are all my favorite Winter Onederland ideas for a girl, from easy decorations and a hot cocoa bar to simple cake and favors, all doable at home and on a budget.
Winter Onederland Party Decorations for a Girl
The best part of a Winter Onederland party is how easy it is to make your space look magical, even if you are not a decorator.
Focus on two or three photo-worthy spots instead of the whole room, and let a soft pink, white, and silver palette do the heavy lifting.
Balloon Garland or Arch
A pink, white, and silver balloon garland is the easiest big-impact piece, and you can tape it up yourself in an afternoon.
Add a few stick-on snowflakes or silver foil snowflake balloons to tie in the theme.
A Dreamy Backdrop
Set up one main backdrop for photos and the cake table, a shimmer curtain, a fabric panel, or an arch board with her name and a big “ONE.”
String fairy lights behind a sheer curtain for that soft, glowing, snowy look.
Faux Snow
Nothing says Winter Onederland like a little snow.
Lay out rolls of artificial snow blanket or drifts of cotton batting along the dessert table and floor, and flock a few mini trees with a can of spray snow.
Centerpieces
Keep them simple and repeatable.
Fill clear vases with pinecones, snow, and silver-painted branches, add a few sprigs of baby’s breath for a snowy floral touch, and tuck in tiny fairy lights for a warm glow.
Snowflakes Everywhere
Hang paper or glitter snowflakes from the ceiling at different heights, and scatter snowflake confetti down the center of the table.
It is inexpensive and instantly reads winter.
A number-one sign and welcome sign. A sparkly “ONE” for the photo area and a “Welcome to [Name]’s Winter Onederland” sign at the door make the party feel personal and pulled together, with almost no effort.
Mix and match whichever of these fit your space and budget.
Even a balloon garland, one backdrop, and a little faux snow will make the whole party feel like a winter wonderland.
Winter Onederland Invitations
Start the winter magic early by sending out themed invitations that match your décor.
Go for designs with snowflakes, glitter, or even a cute illustration of your baby girl in a winter wonderland.
It sets the tone and gets your guests excited about what’s to come.
You can even sprinkle a little bit of “snow” (aka glitter) inside the envelope for a fun surprise!
Winter Onederland Welcome Sign
When guests arrive, greet them with a custom welcome sign that sets the wintery tone.
It’s a great way to make everyone feel excited as soon as they arrive.
You can personalize it with your baby’s name and the theme, like “Welcome to [Your Child’s Name]’s Winter One-derland!”
Surround it with snowflake balloons or soft string lights to add that extra wintery charm.
Easy Winter Onederland Decor
Now that guests have arrived, it’s time to wow them with the decorations. Think snowflakes, glitter, and lots of cozy vibes!
Deck out your space with white and pink balloons, shimmering garlands, and silver accents. Add a backdrop with snowflakes and soft twinkle lights for a magical touch.
You can even use glittery snowflake centerpieces or vases filled with “snow” (cotton or artificial snow) for a little extra winter charm.
Tip: Add a photo booth! Set up a corner with a cute snowy backdrop and a basket of fun winter props like scarves, mittens, and snowflake wands. It’ll be a hit with both kids and adults.
Winter Onederland Food Ideas
Make the food table part of the winter magic by serving up snow-themed snacks. Here are some fun ideas:
Snowflake sandwiches: Use cookie cutters to make sandwiches into fun winter shapes.
Snowman cheese balls: Make mini cheese balls and stack them to look like a snowman, with a pretzel stick for the nose.
Hot cocoa bar: Set up a DIY hot chocolate station with whipped cream, marshmallows, sprinkles, and candy canes so guests can make their own cozy treat.
Snowflake-topped cupcakes: Frost cupcakes with white icing and top them with snowflake-shaped toppers or sprinkles.
Pro Tip: For a healthier option, you can serve yogurt parfaits in clear cups with white granola or coconut flakes to give them a snow-covered look.
Winter Onederland Activities
Keeping the little ones entertained is key! Here are a few fun, wintery activities to keep everyone happy:
Snowball toss: Use soft white balls (or cotton balls) for an indoor snowball toss game where kids can aim for a target.
Decorate a snowflake: Set up a craft table where kids can glue sparkles and sequins onto paper snowflakes or foam shapes.
Build a snowman race: Use marshmallows, pretzel sticks, and chocolate chips to race to “build” mini snowmen on a plate!
Pro Tip: Offer little prizes like snowflake wands or winter-themed stickers for the winners of each activity.
Winter Onederland Outfit Girl
Now, onto the star of the day!
Dress your little one in a cozy, sparkly winter outfit. Think tutu skirts, fluffy boots, and maybe a crown or headband decorated with snowflakes.
A soft pink or white outfit with a “One” onesie and a cute wintery headband will make her look picture-perfect.
Photo Idea: Snap a picture of your little girl in front of the balloon garland or wintery backdrop. It’ll be a memorable, Instagram-worthy shot!
Winter Onederland Mom and Dad Shirt
Don’t forget to coordinate outfits with the guest of honor!
A cute “Mommy of the One-derland” and “Daddy of the One-derland” t-shirt would be a fun touch.
You can even get them custom-made to match your baby’s wintery outfit and add a festive twist to family photos.
Snap a Photo: Capture a family photo with your little one holding onto her smash cake or posing with her birthday decorations for a keepsake moment.
Winter Onederland Highchair Banner
A first birthday highchair banner is an adorable way to highlight your baby girl during her cake smash.
A custom Winter One-derland banner with her name or a cute snowflake design can turn the highchair into its own little winter wonderland.
Pair it with matching balloons for that extra cute touch in all the photos.
Winter Onederland Cake Ideas
The cake is the star of any Winter Onederland party, and for a baby girl, think soft pink buttercream, white snowflakes, and a little sparkle.
A pink drip cake with fondant snowflakes and a “Winter ONEderland” topper is a showstopper that is easier than it looks.
For something simpler, a two-tier cake with pink rosettes and snowflakes, or a single rosette cake with a sparkly “One” topper, comes together fast.
